Gary Linn Axline, 74, of Paris, Mo., formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday, July 31, 2016. A celebration of life will be held from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 21, at
Ellis Park's Harborview Pavilion, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his wife, Joan Axline; children, Alex (Deb) Axline and Bert Axline; brother, Jim (Barb) Axline; sister, Linda (Ken) McGoldrick; his mother, Mary Jane Axline; grandsons, Hunter, Logan and Wyatt; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Axline; and daughter-in-law, Shelbe Axline.
He was born Feb. 17, 1942, to Raymond and Mary Jane (Flaherty) Axline. Gary married Joan Gates on Jan. 2, 1978. Gary served in the U.S. Navy and was
employed by Quaker Oats before retiring after 25 years.
His hobbies included fishing and woodworking. He
especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and friends.
