Burgess, Lorenzo
Lorenzo Burgess, 67, of Marion, died Thursday, July 30, 2009. Services: 11 a.m. Monday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories by the Rev. William Harnish. Interment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be at the chapel after 10 a.m. Monday.
Survivors include wife, Alice, of 47 years; children, Larry, Philip and Mike Burgess, all of Cedar Rapids, Rosalie (Brad) Hendricks of Bridgeport, Wash., Gary (Johnnie) Burgess of Lahoma, Okla., and Linda French of Belle Plaine; his mother, Rosie; sister, Sharon; brother, Elwood; and eight grandchildren.
Lorenzo was born April 17, 1942, in Mason City to Lorenzo and Rosie Burgess. He was employed by Quaker Oats for over 34 years, retiring in 2000.
