Iowa City Police arrest bank robbery suspects after vehicle crashes in ‘snowy conditions’

Iowa City Police have taken two suspects into custody after their vehicle crashed following a robbery that had just occurred at US Bank.
According to a release, at approximately 10:42 a.m. Friday, officers were dispatched to a robbery that occurred at US Bank in Iowa City, 1117 William Street. A short time later, officers located a Mazda CX-9 that had veered off Interstate 80 in snowy conditions and came to a stop in a cornfield.
The items that were taken in the robbery were located near the crash scene and two sets of footprints were found leading away from the crashed vehicle. Officers took a suspect, who was seen fleeing the area, into custody on Northgate Drive and another suspect a short time later, who was hiding in a ditch near the interstate, according to the release.
The suspects were identified as Lemarkis D. Hobson, 32 and Tyson Anthony Michael Hathaway, 32. They are each charged with robbery.
