Larry W. Brunssen, 76, of Cedar Rapids, formerly of Van Horne, died Saturday, June 4, 2016, at Hospice of Mercy.
Larry is survived by his wife of 54 years, Sandi; a daughter, Monica (Brunssen) Manning of Navarre, Fla.; brothers, Roger, Sherman, Butch, Gary and Rick Brunssen; sisters, Shirley Korb, Sandra Thoren, Bonnie Wardenburg and Pat Sonka; grandchildren, Adam Manning, Joshua Manning, Jordan Manning, Hailey Spurlock, Alexis Manning, Lyndsay Hobbs and Alex Brunssen; great-grandchildren, Zakk, Evan and Austin Manning, Mason Hobbs and Aiden Spurlock.
He was preceded in death by a son, Trent Brunssen; parents, Roland and Elnora Brunssen; and sister, Karen Gerleman.
Larry loved to play softball, golf and bowl. He enjoyed watching the Iowa Hawkeyes play football and basketball. He also enjoyed NASCAR.
He was known as "Pal" and "Gramps" to his grandchildren whom he adored.
Larry was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother.
