Edith Mae Elder, 77, of Chelsea, passed away Thursday, June 8, 2017, at her home.
Edith was born to James and June (Postin) Caldemeyer on Aug. 26, 1939, in Temple, Mich. After attending school in Petersburg, Ind., Edith married Ronald Elder on Sept. 12, 1969, in Iowa City. Together they lived in Cedar Rapids and later moved to rural Chelsea, where she worked at the Meskwaki Casino until retirement.
Edith is survived by her husband, Ronald Elder of Chelsea; daughters, Helena Elder of Sedona, Ariz., and Barbara Towle of Belle Plaine; grandchildren, Brad (Amy) Towle, Blake and Bruce Towle of Belle Plaine, Shaun Daniels of Arizona and Joshua Daniels of New Hampshire; great-grandchild, Brenda Stienford; sisters, Shirley (Gorden) Wensel, Janet Willet and Gale Caldemeyer; brothers, Jim (Nancy) Caldemeyer and Rick Caldemeyer; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Sam Caldemeyer and Ron Caldemeyer.
