Mark G. Uribe, 47, passed away April 10, 2015 at the Iowa Veterans Hospital in Des Moines. Mark was born Nov. 22, 1967, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to Elizabeth and Manuel Uribe. Mark proudly served in the Air Force from 1989 to 1996. He had a love for the Dodgers and Vikings, always believing "this was going to be their year." Mark took great pride in being an executive chef, currently employed by the Compass Group.
He is survived by his wife, Angela; children, Ashley McCartney, Patrick, Nicole, Ami and Markus Uribe and Scott and Alexandria Knutsen; brothers, Mike and Tom Strehl; and his Mini Cooper.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Carol.
A cele-bration of Mark's life will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 16, at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery, 34024 Veterans Memorial Dr., Adel, Iowa.
Memorial contributions may be directed toward the family in loving memory of Mark.
