Nancy V. Haddy, 78, of Cedar Rapids died Saturday, April 12, 2014, at Mercy Medical Center. Service: 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 16, at St. George Orthodox Church. The Rev. Fred Shaheen will officiate.
Burial at St. George Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Tueday at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home where there will be a Trisagion Service at 5 p.m. Friends may also call at the church after 9 a.m. Wednesday.
Survivors include two daughters, Jane (Lawrence) Haddy Dudak of Knoxville, Tenn., and Julie Haddy Williams of Denver, Colo.; a son, John Haddy of Denver, Colo.; a sister, Shirley (Jack) Stone of Omaha, Neb.; and a brother, Dean (Maureen) Norman of Cleveland, Ohio.
She is also survived by six grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Thomas.
Nancy was born Aug. 11, 1935, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Raymond and Bernadine McVicker Norman. She graduated from McKinley High School in 1953. Nancy married Thomas J. Haddy on March 14, 1956, in Cedar Rapids. Tom passed away in 2013.
Nancy was co-owner and operator of Tommy's Restaurant with her husband for many years. She was a faithful member of St. George Orthodox Church and was involved with the McKinley High School reunions.
Nancy enjoyed playing cards, visiting with friends and especially the time spent with her beloved family. Her memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
Memorial donations may be given to the St. George Cemetery Fund.
