Nancy Jean Benda Guiher, 63, of the San Diego area, passed away April 30, 2016, at Scripps Memorial Hospital from a brain aneurysm.
Nancy was born May 5, 1952, to Martin W. and Marilyn R. (Condon) Benda. She was a graduate of Regis High School and the Kirkwood nursing program.
Survivors include her three children, Charlie Miller, Brandon Guiher and Brianna Guiher, all of the San Diego area; two grandchildren, Magnus and Russell; and her brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Joan Benda, Cedar Rapids, and their children.
Nancy loved spending time with her family, especially "Little Russell," and enjoyed her Facebook friends. She was a die-hard Chargers fan, but never lost her love for the Iowa Hawkeyes.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents and various aunts and uncles.
A private service was held in San Diego with one to be scheduled at a later date in Cedar Rapids.
Memorials may be directed to the charity of choice.
