STAN STODOLA
Golden, Colo.
Stan Stodola, a longtime resident of Coal Creek Canyon, Colo., died unexpectedly in his home on Oct. 27, 2018, at the age of 66.
Stan is survived by his wife, Vicki; his children, John (Merideth), Jeremy, Katie (Russell) and Kyle (Kristin); and his grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Devynn, Tarysa, Aylisha, Eli, Noah, Walker and Jake; his siblings, Kevin, Steve, Ken, Randy and Jan; and his good friends, Drew, Bill and John.
Stan was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, on Feb. 15, 1952, to Stanley and Pauline Stodola. He found his way to Colorado in 1972 and became a full-time resident. He was a Mason like his father, small business owner and postal carrier, and just retired this July. On Nov. 22, 1980, he married Vicki at the Chapel in the Hill in Coal Creek Canyon.
Stan was a devoted father and grandfather who adored spending time and attending events with his family, children and grandchildren. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, working on home improvement projects, watching Broncos games and the occasional casino run. He loved to be in the mountains, quiet moments at lakes, early mornings in duck blinds and so much more.
During the last few years, Stan relished the family trips he took to Disney World with Kyle's family, Florida Keys and Hawaii with Katie's family, Caribbean cruise and Cape Canaveral with John's family, and Las Vegas and Lake Powell with all of them. The joy of these moments with his wife, children and especially his grandchildren filled his heart with love.
Stan was a wonderful and caring person that will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all that knew him.
Celebration of Stan Stodola will be held on Sunday, Nov. 4, 2018, at noon at Northgate Event Center and Tap Room, Denver, Colo. As Stan loved his Hawaiian shirts, we are celebrating his memory with a casual Hawaiian theme. Please bring a story of your experiences with Stan to share with the group.
Memorials in Stan's name may be directed to Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, at www.lls.org.
