Vivian King, 86, of Grinnell, died on Friday, Aug. 31, 2018, at St. Francis Manor in Grinnell.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 5, at the Smith Funeral Home in Grinnell, with the Rev. Dave Crow, pastor of the Grinnell United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be at Hazelwood Cemetery in Grinnell and a reception will follow in the Friendship Center of the Grinnell United Methodist Church.
Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. on Tuesday at the Smith Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m.
Memorials may be designated to PALS (Poweshiek Animal League Shelter), JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) or to Grinnell Regional Hospice, and mailed in care of the Smith Funeral Home, P.O. Box 368, Grinnell, IA 50112.

Vivian is survived by her children, Katherine Rose of Grinnell, Steve (Bonnie Ryan) King of Newton and Kevin (Anne) King of Cedar Rapids; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Ross Doty of Brooklyn, Marvin (Mary Lou) Doty of Grinnell, Joan Foster of Cedar Rapids, Lucy (Richard) King of War Acres, Okla., and Kay Dietrich of Brooklyn.
