Langguth, Mildred Ellen 'Midge'
Mildred Ellen “Midge” Langguth, of Center Point, formerly of Palo, passed away Oct. 9, 2009. Private graveside services will be at the Palo Cemetery.
Survivors include her daughters, Sandy Grant and companion Octavio of Palo, Marcia (Jay) Perry of Avondale, Ariz., and Linda (Bill) Griffin of Cedar Rapids; sons, Tracy (Deb) and Louis L. Jr. “Bud” and companion Sheryl of Cedar Rapids; brother, Russell Laird Daniels; sister, Letha Rae Blanchard; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and her beloved cat Sam.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; stepparents, John Graves and Faye Daniels; brother, Keith “Skeet” Daniels; and longtime companion and traveling buddy, her faithful dog Sugar.
Born Mildred Ellen Daniels to Wes and Fae Leone Johnson Daniels, she married Louis LaVerne Langguth on Nov. 11, 1945. He passed away July 23, 1983. They made their home and raised their family in Palo. Midge loved camping and traveling and mostly spending time with family. She loved and enjoyed each member of her family, including extended family. Midge and her husband enjoyed opening their home to several foreign exchange students from Germany. She was a member of the Good Sams Camper Club and VFW Ladies Auxiliary. For the last several years she made her home in Center Point.
Memorials may be made to St. Luke's Hospice.
