Bachman, Florence C.
Florence C. Bachman, 100, of Clarence, died Saturday, Dec. 18, 2010, in the Clarence Nursing Home. Memorial services: 11 a.m. Wednesday, Clarence United Methodist Church with Pastor Carol Mart officiating. Inurnment will be in Clarence Cemetery, at a later date. The family will greet friends from 10 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the church. Arrangements with Chapman Funeral Home, Clarence.
Survivors include her daughter, Joyce Kastler of Davenport; a son, William (Karen) Bachman of Clarence; stepdaughters, Shirley (Dale) Stollsteimer of Hot Springs, Ark., and Corrine (Ron) Atkins of Clarence; stepson, Donald Bachman of Davenport; 15 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son, one brother and one sister.
Florence was born Oct. 23, 1910, in Princeton, Iowa, to George and Emma LeGrand Heldt. She married Fred Bachman in August 1940, he died in 1985.
Florence was active in many social organizations in her life and was named Cedar County Outstanding Citizen in 1980. She was a lifelong member and always involved in the Clarence United Methodist Church.
Memorial may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
