Ryan woman accepts plea deal just before start of murder trial
A northeast Iowa woman accused of killing her husband has accepted a plea deal just before her trial began in Delaware County District Court in Manchester.
Revette Sauser, of Ryan, was charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of her husband, Terry, at their home in April 2011.
She pleaded guilty on Wednesday to second-degree kidnapping, voluntary manslaughter and going armed with intent. Her plea came just before the start of jury selection.
Under the deal, Sauser will serve a maximum of 40 years in prison.
