Hello from another European country! We are now in Bratislava, Slovakia.
For our last morning in Prague, most of the team woke up early to get in some last touring in. Kelly Krei, Virginia Johnson and I checked out St. Nicholas Cathedral. It's a cathedral that you can't put into words. We were captivated by the large statues and marble altars. We could have spent another hour in there, but our souvenirs will allow us to remember what we saw.
Jaime Printy, Kathryn Reynolds, Melissa Dixon, Trisha Nesbitt and Kathryn's mom, Marie, went to an area called the Lesser Town. They said it had a very cool shopping area, but the style of clothes was much different.
We boarded the bus around 10:30 a.m. to head to Bratislava. We stopped in a town in the Czech Republic about halfway to Bratislava called Brno (pronounced Brew-know). We ate at a food court inside a big mall that had a McDonalds, KFC, Burger King and Villa Pizza. I had Burger King and it was nice to have some American food! I really enjoyed the food in Prague, but Burger King was a good change of pace.
We arrived in Bratislava and the team was really surprised to see how laid back it was. We really didn't see any tourists and the attitude of the city seems to be a lot more laid back than Prague. We found a local place to eat dinner and a bunch of us are headed the UFO Restaurant on the New Bridge above the Danube River. We are hoping the view is awesome!
We play our second game tomorrow night. I'll be sure to let you know how it goes! We are hoping for another win like last night!
