MARK R. SWAIN

Mark R. Swain, 45, of Cedar Rapids, died Thursday, March 8, 2018, at his home. The family will greet friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 14, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Celebration of Life: 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 14, at the funeral home.
Mark was born Dec. 22, 1972, in Saugus, Mass., the son of Donnie Swain and Kathy D'Amico. He graduated from Saugus High School. Mark married Kirsten Haible on Aug. 9, 1997, in Cedar Rapids. He worked at Chi-Chi's, The Vernon Inn and currently at Hy-Vee and Las Glorias. Mark enjoyed watching the weather, especially storms. He had a green thumb and a passion for growing flowers, plants and trees. Mark had a great love of animals. He was a simple, kind man. Everyone knew and loved him. Mark loved his family and friends. He was a wonderful loving father.
He is survived by his daughter, Star Swain; parents, Donnie Swain and Kathy (Bob) Scheetz; sister, Tammy (John) Doherty; brother, Derek Scheetz; niece, Brianna; and nephews, Kyle, Tony and Lucca.
