Iowa high school baseball Class 4A substate semifinal pairings

The Class 4A prep baseball postseason is structured a little differently than the other three classes as the highest-remaining seed after first-round play gets a bye to the final.

Only one No. 1 seed fell in the first round Friday. Davenport Central used 10 innings to upset Western Dubuque, 5-2. That gave Cedar Rapids Washington a bye to the Substate 5 final to face the winner of Central and Cedar Rapids Jefferson.
