Fisher, Carol Jean
Carol Jean Fisher, 65, a resident of Living Center West, died there Wednesday morning, Feb. 27, 2013. Memorial Services: 10 a.m. Monday at Papich-Kuba Funeral Home East, 1228 Second St. SE, with the Rev. Jim Coyle officiating. Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Inurnment at a later date at Mount Calvary Cemetery.
Carol is survived by her sisters, Pat Durfey and husband Dwight and Marilyn Van Houten, both of Cedar Rapids; three stepdaughters, Shonna Fisher-Anderson and husband Tom, Dusty Howgland and Charlene Fisher, all of Las Vegas, Nev.; three nieces; a nephew and three great-nieces.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie; and her parents, Clinton and Mary Ann (Dvorak) Farrington.
Carol was born Jan. 4, 1948, in Cedar Rapids and was a lifelong resident. She was a 1966 graduate of Jefferson High School, a 1969 graduate of the Paris Academy of Beauty Culture and later graduated from Hamilton Business College.
Carol was a longtime member and past president of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary. She also enjoyed doing needlepoint before losing her dexterity due to diabetes.
Instead of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Camp Courageous and the American Diabetes Association.
