Jane Taylor Fisher of the Meth-Wick Community, Cedar Rapids, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2018. A private family graveside service will take place at a later date at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Marshalltown, Iowa. Arrangements made by Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include nieces, Nancy McKern of Cedar Rapids and Judy (Gary) Nesteby of Marion; nephew, Kenneth McCreedy of Virginia; great-nephew, Brandon (Christie) Nesteby; great-niece, Tracy (Darwin) Dede of Marion; great-grandnieces, Skylar Dede and Taylor Nesteby; and great-grandnephews, Spencer Dede and Brystol Nesteby.
Jane was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Fisher; her parents; and her sister, Alyce McCreedy.
She was employed by the Cedar Rapids Gazette for 40 years, retiring in 1986. Jane was a member of Ashley Chapter DAR, life member of the American Legion Auxillary and the VFW Ladies Auxilliary, and a member of the Cedar Rapids Softball Hall of Fame.
Memorials may be sent to Camp Courageous, Genealogical Society of Linn County, Iowa, or a charity of the donor's choice.
