Fisher, Eugene H.
Eugene H. Fisher, 88, of Hiawatha, formerly of Van Horne, died Saturday, Oct. 8, 2011, near Robbins Road and Tower Terrace in Hiawatha from injuries suffered in a pedestrian accident.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 14, at Phillips Family Center, 605 Second Ave, Vinton. Interment will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Vinton. Friends may call at the Family Center from 9:30 a.m. until service time on Friday.
A memorial fund has been established.
Eugene was born March 8, 1923, at Belle Plaine, to Wilson and Emma (O'Hara) Fisher. On Feb. 11, 1942, he married Bernadine Bevins at Vinton. He farmed and retired as a painter with FMC in 1983. In his leisure, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and raccoon hunting with his coon hounds.
He is survived by his wife, Bernadine of Hiawatha; his daughter, Judy (Gene) Wickman of Robbins; his son, Gary (Alice) Fisher of Cedar Rapids; his grandchildren, Daniel Parvin, Nancy Parvin Cortez, Jason Fisher and Jill Fisher Foster; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and 15 siblings.
