Stober, Marc Ryan
Marc Ryan Stober, 31, of Cedar Rapids, died July 20, 2013, as a result of injuries he suffered in a motorcycle accident. Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 23, at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. A visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel. Inurnment will be at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
He was born Dec. 22, 1981, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Michael and Cathy (Cook) Stober. He attended Cedar Rapids schools and graduated from Jefferson High School in 2000. He then went on to Kirkwood Community College and graduated, with his automotive technician degree, and later earned his ASE Master Technician certification.
For those who had the privilege of knowing Marc they knew him to be a fun, energetic, passionate and charismatic person who truly had a heart of gold. Never one to shy away from a person in need, Marc was always eager and willing to lend a hand. As well as an opinion! Marc was passionate about music and enjoyed karaoke considerably. When it came to movies Marc's memory bordered on that of the eidetic, able to quote any line from any movie with astonishing accuracy.
Most significantly Marc had a love of all things mechanical and was genuinely an automotive savant. Marc possessed an inherent and innate ability to repair anything. One of the proudest moments in Marc's career was when he earned his certification as an ASE Master Technician. This was truly a badge of honor for Marc. His unquestionable love of cars expanded to motorcycles as well. Marc loved the feeling of freedom that riding gave.
Marc is survived by his parents, Michael and Cathy Stober of Fairfax; and his sister, Tracey Stober (Brittany Perkins, Taylor Perkins and Emily Bartels); and brother and sister-in-law, Matt and Katie Stober (Sydney and Benjamin Stober), all of Cedar Rapids.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the family.
