Meskimen, Lucille Loretta (Dellamuth)
Lucille Loretta (Dellamuth) Meskimen, 85, of Shueyville, died Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2013, at her home from complications with Alzheimer's disease and other health problems. Visitation will be from 4 until 7 p.m. Thursday at Brosh Chapel in Solon, located at 100 S. Cedar St. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Sulek Cemetery near the family farm in Shueyville. A luncheon will follow at the family farm.
Lucille was born Sept. 19, 1928, in Marengo, the daughter of Mervin and Elise (Rotter) Dellamuth. She married Regis Victor Meskimen on April 15, 1947, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids. They had nine children. Lucille was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church.
She was hardworking, loving, and caring wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will always be in our hearts. Lucille is survived by her husband of 66 years, Regis; four daughters, Marcia (Dick) Wakeford of Oelwein, Beth (Roger) Davis of Illinois City, Ill., Lori Sharpe of Swisher and Kristen Ward of Shueyville; a son, Jerry Meskimen of Ely; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers, Glenn and Larry (Pat), both of Williamsburg; her sister, Luella Morse of Western; as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her daughters, Carol Malatek, Cheryl Osborn and Patty Meskimen; her son, Keith Meskimen; two grandsons, Curtis Osborn and Todd Wakeford; and a granddaughter, Katherine Meskimen.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family, Alzheimers Association or Hospice of Mercy in her name.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Kay, Joe and staff from Hospice of Mercy as well as Yvonne, Donna and staff from Home Choice Senior Care.
