Roger Stuenkel, 79, of Marion, died Monday, July 2, 2018. A memorial service will be held at King of Kings Lutheran Church, Robins, Iowa, at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 9, 2018. Visitation will be held one hour prior at the church. Private burial will be held in Illinois at a later date.
Survivors include his wife, Lorraine; sons, Mark (Amy) Stuenkel of Waterloo, Iowa, David Stuenkel of Villa Hills, Ky., and Thomas (Carolyn) Stuenkel of Chicago, Ill.; three grandchildren, Allison, Elliott and Julia Stuenkel; and a brother, Richard Stuenkel of Monee, Ill.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Arwin; and two sisters, Sylvia Schmaedeke and Loretta Keuch.
Roger was born Aug. 21, 1938, in Joliet, Ill., the son of Otto and Amanda (Kampe) Stuenkel. He married Lorraine Schultz on April 12, 1969. Roger was a supervisor for the Dairy Herd Improvement Association of Illinois for 30 years before moving to Marion, Iowa. He was employed by Linn Co-op Oil Co. until he retired. An avid sports fan, he will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend.
Memorial donations may be given to Unity Point Hospice or the American Cancer Society.
