Axline, Helen J.
Helen J. Axline, 92, a resident of the Meth-Wick Community, died Sunday, April 22, 2012. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 28, at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Chaplain Kay Mineck of Meth-Wick will officiate. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will take place at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Surviving are her son, Dave (Penny) Axline of Solon and their children, Jeff (Janna) and their children, Ashley and Kelsey, Shelley (John) and their children, Justin and Isabella; Stacey (Rick) and their children, Christopher, Joseph and Stacia; and Jennifer (Mark) and their children, Lanney and Liam; Helen's daughter, Kay (Dale) Fulcher of Stillwater, Kan., and their children, Lori (Tom) and their children Connor, Derek and Emma; John (Debbie) and their children, Katie, Johnny and Brett; Kim, Jill and Jodie.
She is also survived by her close, extended family, Jo and Roger Rayborn and Ellen Axline.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Betty Novak; and her brother, Bob Novak.
Helen was born Feb. 4, 1920, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Anthony and Rose (Flidr) Novak. She was united in marriage to Francis C. Axline on April 3, 1941, in Cedar Rapids. She and Francis owned and operated West Side Sewing for many years. Francis preceded her in death in 2000.
She shared several years along with her beloved cat companion, Lucy, and moved to Meth-Wick in 2011. Helen enjoyed birds and flowers and was a life long fan of the Chicago Cubs. She was formerly a member of Cedar Christian Church and was currently attending church services at Meth-Wick. She will forever be remembered for her kind smile and her love given to all.
