Smith, Natalie June
Natalie June Smith, 76, of Central City, died Saturday, March 20, 2010, at Winslow House Care Center, Marion. Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 24, 2010, at First United Methodist Church, Central City, by the Rev. Nick Needham. The family will greet friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Central City. Burial: Boulder Cemetery, Central City.
Survivors include her children, Randy (Renee) Smith of Anamosa, Jeanne Smith of Cedar Rapids, and Julie (Patrick) Novak of Cedar Rapids; seven grandchildren, Angie Kremer, Teresa Diers, Jacquelyn Eden, Michelle Cruise, Mitchell Lerch, Emily Novak and Sarah Novak; seven great-grandchildren, Gracie, Kylee, Troy, Kadin, Revee, Trevin and Tyler; brothers, Thomas (Carol) Hoerner of Ames, James (Joyce) Hoerner of Bluffton, S.C., and Harry (JoAnn) Hoerner of Good Hope, Ill.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband, Leo.
Natalie was born May 24, 1933, in Dubuque, Iowa, the daughter of Allen “Bud” and Emily (Barmeier) Hoerner. She married Leo Smith on Nov. 14, 1952, at the Little Brown Church, Nashua. Leo died Oct. 28, 2009. Natalie was employed by Quaker Oats for more than 30 years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Central City.
A memorial fund has been established in Natalie's name.
