Iva Novak, 87, of Cedar Rapids, died on Thursday, Jan. 17, 2019, at the Hiawatha Care Center. Celebration of Life services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2019, at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre, located at 2121 Bowling St. SW in Cedar Rapids. Burial will take place following in Czech National Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family one hour before the service on Tuesday at Brosh Chapel.
Iva was born on June 27, 1931, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of George and Elsie Riedel. She worked at Kmart West for many years. She enjoyed bingo, casinos, fishing and mushroom hunting.
Iva is survived by her children, Gary (Susan) Novak, Diana Beck, Allan (Sheri) Novak and Joe (Angela) Novak; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Iva was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Leo; and her granddaughter, Andrea-Novak Rathje.
