Letter: Trump, supporters deprived of empathy

Citing his indifference to those in need, President Donald Trump's detractors say he lacks empathy - the ability to understand and share the feelings of others - and he gets away with it because so many of his supporters are similarly deprived.
Theirs is a special condition I call Trumpathy - feelings supporting the vindictiveness of Donald J. Trump. They are Trumpathetic toward those their leader belittles as 'losers.” They Trumpathize when hearing pleas for inclusiveness. Instead of thoughts and prayers, it's taunts and jeers.
Trumpathy: Empathy's political opposite.
