Sarah Jane Wardenburg was born Nov. 6, 1950, in Williamsburg, Iowa, the daughter of Orville and Elaine (Sandersfeld) Wardenburg. She graduated from Williamsburg High School in 1968 and attended Chicago School of Art. Sarah was a friend to all; she was always open-minded. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, antiquing, refurbishing and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Sarah passed away Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2016, at her home at the age of 65 years.
She is survived by her children, Jesse and Mitch Jeske of Parnell, Shane Coffman of Cedar Rapids and Annie Witte of Tucson, Ariz.; three grandchildren, Tim Nederhoff, Jack Hooper and Lauren Hooper; her mother, Elaine Wardenburg of Williamsburg; and four siblings, Kenton (Marcy) Wardenburg of Williamsburg, Sherri (Roger) Steffen of Cedar Rapids, Janel (Mike) Staton of Iowa City and Aron (Angie) Wardenburg of Iowa City. She was preceded in death by her father, Orville Wardenburg.
A Celebration of Life service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 21, at Powell Funeral Home in Williamsburg. Visitation will be Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. A general memorial has been established. Messages and tributes may be left at www.powellfuneralhomes.com.
