Ed Grimm, 74, of Urbana, passed away Monday, Jan. 11, 2016, at Virginia Gay Hospital, Vinton. Memorial gathering: 3 to 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 15, at Murdoch Funeral Home, Center Point.
Survivors include his wife, Kaye of Urbana; sons, Brian Grimm and Darren Grimm, both from Urbana; granddaughters, Kay (Kenny) Ginther of Hiawatha and Kristina Grimm (Nick Ruby) of Carlisle; five great-grandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren; siblings, Barbara Sherman of Cedar Rapids, Larry (Judy) Grimm of Urbana and Merle (Georgene) Grimm of Hiawatha; and mother-in-law, Helen Franks.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law, Jerry Sherman; sister-in-law, Irene Grimm; fathers-in-law, Darwin Boyles and Elmer Franks; and daughter-in-law, Jacque Manternach.
Ed was born Oct. 1, 1941, in Urbana, Iowa, the son of Merle and Laura (Palmer) Grimm. He attended Urbana High School. Ed married Kaye in 1967 in Urbana. He worked and drove a cement truck driver for McDowell's Redi Mix. Ed enjoyed fishing.
