Linda Stirling, 72, of Waterloo, formerly of Phoenix, Ariz., and Marion/Cedar Rapids, lost her battle with cancer on March 2, 2015, at Unity Point Health-Allen Hospital in Waterloo.
She was born June 17, 1942, in Manchester, Iowa, to parents Stanley Peter Zrudsky and Louise Mae (Roshar) Zrudsky. She married Robert L. Mitchell Jr. on Dec 30, 1961, in Cedar Rapids (divorced) and later married Wallace Don Stirling on Nov. 30 1982, in Phoenix (deceased).
Linda graduated from Marion High School in 1960. She was employed at WMT-TV until 1972, when her family moved to Arizona, where she spent the next 42 years. She worked at Western Savings & Loan, Bell Road Toyota and retired in December 2008 from Ed Moses Dodge. She moved to Waterloo, Iowa, in September 2014 due to her cancer diagnosis and resided with her daughter and son-in-law.
She is survived by three children, Kris (Randy) Reeves of Waterloo, Lori Mitchell of Phoenix and Brad Mitchell of Phoenix; four grandchildren, April (Charles) Conover, Autumn Kelczewski, Tonya Mitchell and Ryleigh Nemeth, all of Arizona; three great- grandchildren, Dominic, Drake and Kailyn, also of Arizona; three siblings, Tina (Denny) Kremenak of Cedar Rapids, Tim (Charlene) Zrudsky of Marion and Tom (Diana) Zrudsky of Marion; many nieces and nephews; cousins and friends; and her dog, Grumpy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley and Louise Zrudsky; her grandson, Brandon Mitchell; and niece, Jennifer (Kremenak) Barker.
Memorial services: 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 24, at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories in Cedar Rapids.
A special thank-you to the nurses and personnel at UnityPoint Health-Allen Hospital for all its help in her final hours.
