Marion school board plans meetings for superintendent search input
Feb. 12, 2015 4:09 pm
MARION - The Marion Independent School District will hold two public forums Tuesday to collect input on its superintendent search.
The events are scheduled for 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. and will be held in the boardroom at the district's office building, 777 S. 15th St., Marion.
The first forum is designated for Marion community members and parents; the second is an open forum.
Both will be led by Ray and Associates, the Cedar Rapids search firm the Marion school board chose to help with its search.
Current superintendent Sarah Pinion announced her retirement last month. She will retire June 30.
Ray and Associates also will meet Tuesday with community, business and faith leaders; administrators; support staff; students and teachers.
In addition, the district is conducting an online survey on the search, which can be found on its website.
The school board will meet Monday to discuss the search. It plans to conduct interviews in April.
