Coral Ridge Younkers employee faces theft charge for fake returns
An employee of the Coral Ridge Mall Younkers store used old store receipts to collect fraudulent refunds, police say.
Johnson County deputies arrested Lane A. Hanon, 34, of Coralville. He was charged Wednesday with second-degree theft Wednesday.
According to Johnson County court records, Hanon would memorize transaction numbers from old store receipts and then credit the refunds to a pre-paid Visa card.
Hanon made 23 false transactions between December 27, 2009 and May 20, 2010, collecting $1,442.
Hanon admitted to the thefts after being read his rights, according to court records.
