Defenseman Greg Amlong and forward Gerald Mayhew of the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders are the United States Hockey League's Defenseman of the Week and Forward of the Week, it was announced Monday.
Mayhew had four goals and five points to help the RoughRiders go 2-0-1 on a three-game road trip last week to Youngstown, Chicago and Green Bay. Amlong had two goals.
Cedar Rapids hosts Lincoln on Friday night at the Cedar Rapids Ice Arena.
The RoughRiders also made a trade Monday afternoon, acquiring defenseman Nathan Widman from the USHL's Omaha Lancers in exchange for defenseman Nolan Zajac.
This was the third season in Cedar Rapids for Zajac, brother of NHL forward Travis Zajac. A University of Denver commit, he recorded a point and was plus-five in seven games this season.
The 6-foot, 200-pound Widman, 18, is from Naperville, Ill. He played in six games for Omaha and was scoreless.
RoughRiders Coach/General Manager Mark Carlson said second-year winger Ryan McGrath is out at least six weeks after breaking his wrist in a game last weekend and having surgery.
