A Solon man was arrested for eluding, a class D felony, second offense operating while intoxicated and possession of a controlled substance after he was observed driving in the wrong street lane and failed to pull over for multiple police officers at 5:16 p.m. Sunday evening.
Reports indicate that Kyle S. Thomae, 27, of 1000 Dutches Drive Apartment #11, was observed traveling at 90 mph in the wrong lane of traffic on Prairie Du Chien Road. Thomae did not stop with three deputies in tow and reached speeds of over 70 mph in a residential neighborhood and 90 mph in a 45 mph zone. He eventually stopped his vehicle in front of a house on Oaklawn Avenue.
Police noted that Thomae smelled of alcohol, had Jagermeister spilled on himself, had a partial case of Budweiser on his front seat and in a cooler in the back seat and marijuana the vehicle. Thomae failed all field sobriety tests and breath tests.
Thomae was being held at the Johnson County Jail on Monday morning.
