City workers discovered eight potted marijuana plants along a trail Wednesday afternoon in southwest Cedar Rapids.
Police were notified around 1 p.m. that the mature plants had been found along a bike trail near the intersection of Ely Road and Navajo Avenue SW. City workers were cutting brush in the area when they made the discovery.
Sgt. Cristy Hamblin said the plants were taken to police headquarters where they would be destroyed. The person who was growing the marijuana has not been determined, she said.
