The Kernels are playing much better baseball over the past week. Now, we just have to turn the better play into consistent victories. The starting rotation seems to be coming out of its struggles, and the offense is having much better at-bats each night.
The change hasn't come in the form of wins and losses quite yet, but from being with the team every day, I see a much improved team.
Heath Nichols has pitched excellent in his last two starts, including last night win over Burlington.
Ricky Alvarez is hitting everything in sight over the last 10 days, getting his average up to .274.
Chris Giovinazzo, a 2011 draft pick from UCLA, has provided a spark from the lead off and center field spot.
The Kernels have one more against the Burlington Bees tonight beginning at 6:35 p.m.
Then, it's off to Clinton for three before returning for a nine game home stand.
Probables for Clinton:
Wednesday at 7:00: CR: RHP P.J. Jang (0-1, 6.23) vs. CLI: LHP Anthony Fernandez (2-2, 3.81)
Thursday at 7:00: CR: LHP Max Russell (4-8, 3.73) vs. CLI: RHP Taijuan Walker (2-4, 3.05)
Friday at 7:00: CR: RHP Brian Diemer (7-5, 3.09) vs. CLI: LHP Tony Butler (0-0, 0.00)
