Bill was united in marriage to Hope Paul on March 6, 1943, at Stevens Point, Wis., and to this union two sons were born. Bill and Hope farmed in the rural Melbourne and Van Cleve area for over 35 years. Bill also was employed at Fisher Controls in Marshalltown for over two decades, retiring in 1986.
The family enjoyed many good years of camping in their motor home and boating at Lake Rathbun. Bill was a lifelong Cubs fan and loved playing baseball in his younger years.
In his later years, Bill was much loved for his fondness of telling stories from his childhood and of their early years of farming.
Bill is survived by his two sons, Barry A. (Sue) Bryant of Marshalltown and Paul (Sharon) Bryant of Coralville; and two grandchildren, Jana Bryant and Shari Bryant.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Hope; grandson, Jeremy; brothers, Col. Donald D. Bryant and the Rev. Herbert Bryant; and sister, Helen Bryant.
