Michael John Jagielski, 74, of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, June 11, 2016, at Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha. A Celebration of Life will be at a later date.
Michael was born April 5, 1942, the son of Walter and Helen (Besiak) Jagielski in Bessemer, Mich. He served in the U.S. Army. Michael worked for WMT for 42 years. He began there as continuity director and later wrote and produced commercials. After his partial retirement from WMT, he continued to work as a switchboard operator. Michael was in a band from high school to 1993 where he played the guitar. He enjoyed Ham radio and loved spending time with his family and friends.
He will be greatly missed by all those who knew him.
Survivors include his two children, Sherry (Joseph) Hunter and Jeff Jagielski; three grandchildren, Thomas Gerdts, Courtney Jagielski and Jenna Hunter; brother, Paul (Sherry) Jagielski; two nieces, Dawn Jagielski and Jill (Fred) Pilipuf; one great-niece; two great-nephews; and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
