The University of Iowa shared in a Big Ten dual title this winter, but the Hawkeyes had success off the mat as well.
Eight Hawkeye wrestlers earned academic all-Big Ten honors. Iowa had 51 athletes from its seven winter sports receive all-conference accolades.
Sophomore Nathan Burak, who placed seventh to earn All-American honors at 197 pounds in March, was part of the group. NCAA qualifiers Josh Dziewa (141) and Brody Grothus (149) were also on the list.
Five non-starters garnered the distinction. Senior Joe DuCharme, juniors Jeremy Fahler and Josh Haug, sophomore Kris Klapprodt and red-shirt freshman Alex Meyer were recognized. Haug is a former Mount Vernon prep, majoring in Electrical and Computer Engineering.
