Ahrens, Elmer 'Pete' Richard
Elmer “Pete” Richard Ahrens, 92 of Conroy, died Saturday, Sept. 17, 2011, at Mercy Iowa City. Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 21, at the First Lutheran Church, north of Conroy. Pastor Don Dovre will officiate. Burial will be in the First Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the Powell Funeral Home, Williamsburg.
A memorial fund has been established for the First Lutheran Church or donor's choice.

He is survived by his wife, Maxine of Conroy; two sons, Richard and Steve (Sue) Ahrens, all of Conroy; a daughter, Julie (Joe) O'Donnell of Minneapolis, Minn.; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Connie Neira.
