O'Donnell, Dorothy L.
Dorothy L. O'Donnell, 93, of Cedar Rapids, died at St. Luke's Living Center West, Cedar Rapids, Wednesday morning, June 26, 2013.
Born Feb. 5, 1920, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, she was the daughter of Edward A. and Anna T. King O'Donnell. Dorothy graduated from Burlington High School in 1937 and Burlington Junior College in 1939. She completed her education at Burlington Business School. She was a bank teller at National Bank and Mississippi Valley Savings & Loan. She was also a bookkeeper and secretary at Barngrover Glass, all in Burlington, Iowa.
Dorothy had resided in Cedar Rapids since 1968. She was a former member of Cedar Rapids Credit Women, Cedar Rapids Business & Professional Women's Association, Young at Heart of All Saints Church and Bluff View Ladies Aid. She enjoyed golfing, crossword puzzles, playing cards and embroidering. She was a member of All Saints Catholic Church and SS John & Paul Catholic Church.
She is survived by two sisters, Betty Wells of Denver, Colo. and Patricia Ann (Paul) Siefken of Lake Saint Louis, Mo.; one brother, Edward (Marianne) O'Donnell of Davenport; nieces; and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
The Funeral Mass for Dorothy L. O'Donnell will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 1, at St. Paul Catholic Church, Burlington. Celebrant will be Father Marty Goetz. Interment will be in North Sixth Street Catholic Cemetery, Burlington. The family will receive friends at the church one hour before the service Monday. Friends may call at Prugh's Chapel from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday.
A memorial has been established for North Sixth Street Catholic Cemetery.
