WILLIAM L. LAMBERT I

William L. Lambert I, 82, a resident of Living Center West, died there on Friday, Jan. 8, 2016. Per Bill's request, there will be no visitation or service. Iowa Cremation is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include a daughter, Sandy Lambert of Cedar Rapids; a son, William II; and grandson, Adam, both of Denver, Colo.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Dorothy McKee of Des Moines.
Bill was born on April 2, 1933, in Des Moines, the son of Roy and Ida Lambert. He married Barbara Halton in Des Moines. They later divorced.
Bill was a machinist and tool maker at Cherry Burrell and retired from there after many years of service. He was a member of the International Paper Union and proudly served in the National Guard for seven years.
Bill was a very talented mechanic and could fix almost anything. He enjoyed rebuilding cars, motorcycles, go-karts, going to dirt track races and especially the time spent with his beloved family and many friends.
He will be greatly missed and his memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved him.
Memory donations may be given to the American Heart Association or to the Cedar Valley Humane Society.
