Musker, Norma Rae (Wayson)
Mrs. Norma Rae (Wayson) Musker passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2013, at the Vinton Lutheran Home. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 29, at the Phillips Funeral Home, 212 E. Sixth St., Vinton, with Pastors John and Mark Fulmer officiating. Interment will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Vinton. Friends may call from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
Norma was born April 20, 1926, the daughter of Clifford Mearl Wayson and Anna Fern (Rouse) Wayson. She was a former resident of Vinton, Iowa, where she graduated from Lincoln High School in 1943.
She worked at Northwestern Bell Telephone Company for 17½ years. She married Charles Musker in 1969 and resided in Cedar Rapids until 2005. Norma enjoyed playing the piano, organ and creating handicrafts of all kinds. Norma had a wonderful sense of humor and often entertained as “PoPo the Clown” at hospitals and nursing homes.
She is survived by her children, Dennis Brubaker of Cedar Rapids, Dee Anna (Frank Jr.) Beckman of Tuscon, Ariz. and Brett (Janet) Brubaker of Indianola; three grandchildren, Tanya Brubaker and Charles R. and Clayton M. Brubaker; her sister, Georgia Fea Nash of Marshalltown; and her brother, Carlton Mearl “Jack” (Dixie) Wayson of Vinton.
Norma was preceded in death by her parents; one sister; her husband, Charles; and a granddaughter.
