James William Livingston, 82, of Atkins, died Monday, May 21, 2018, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy. Private graveside services will be held at St. Joseph Cemetery, Harpers Ferry. Teahen Funeral Home is serving the family.
Jim is survived by his wife, Lois; son, Larry (Denys) Livingston of Walford; two daughters, Lori (Herman) Castille of Temecula, Calif., and Angela Busch of Cedar Rapids; four grandchildren, Ryan (Lauren) Livingston of Johnston, Justin Livingston of Ely and Alexis Busch and Austin "AJ" Busch, both of Cedar Rapids; and a brother, John "Jack" (Carole) Livingston of Fairfax.
Jim was preceded in death by his sisters, Annie West and Marian Scheffert; infant brother, Joseph; and a brother, Keith Livingston.
Jim was born Aug. 7, 1935, in Lawler, the son of Lawrence and Harriett Kelly Livingston. He enlisted in the Army in 1957. He married Lois Rolfs on Sept. 16, 1961, in Cedar Rapids. Jim worked for the city of Cedar Rapids sanitation department from 1962 until his retirement in 1998.
Jim loved spending time with his family and watching his grandchildren at their sporting events. He enjoyed deer and turkey hunting, fishing, and especially traveling.
