DAVID NADLER
Iowa City
David Nadler, 60, of Iowa City, passed away July 24, 2017, at his home.
Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, July 30, at Agudas Achim Synagogue. Burial will follow at Agudas Achim Cemetery and a meal of condolence will follow the burial.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed toward his children's education.
David was born Nov. 27, 1956, in Waterloo, Iowa, the son of Renate and Isadore (Rothschild) Nadler. He graduated from high school in Washington, D.C., in 1974. David went on to obtain his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Iowa. He ran his own private practice for 31 years. He married Sinaya on June 8, 1983, and they had Matan, Zohar, Heelah and Idan.
David was, first and foremost, a family man, an exceptional hockey player and devoted coach. He spoke seven languages and was an accomplished cellist, writer of short stories and essays, and a biblical scholar. He was pro-Israel. He loved animals and charity work – David was a giver, a simple man, who put his own needs last. He had a very good heart, an especially keen mind, and was dedicated to his family, particularly his children and his parents. He took care of Isadore and Renate in their later years.
David is survived by his children, Matan, Zohar, Heelah and Idan; his former wife, Sinaya; and his siblings, Jody (Norman) Camac, Craig and Mark Nadler.
David was preceded by his parents and his brother, Bruce Nadler.
