PETE MEYER Calmar Pete Meyer, 70, of Calmar, died peacefully, with his family by his side, on Wednesday, June 7, 2017, at Jones Regional Medical Center in Anamosa. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 13, at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 304 S. Maryville St., Calmar, with the Rev. Robert Gross presiding. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday, June 12, and from 9 to 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 13, at Schluter-Balik Funeral Home, French Chapel, 202 S. Washington St., in Calmar. There will be a rosary at 2:30 p.m. and Scripture service at 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Pete is survived by his wife of 47 years, Alma; three children, Corey (Christi) Meyer of Calmar, Amy (Eric) Thuente of Cedar Rapids and Jennifer (Dan) Peters of Cedar Rapids; nine grandchildren, Carly, Cody and Caden Meyer, Evan, Lila, Jack and Audra Thuente, Bryce and Aubrey Peters; sister, Nancy Condon of Decorah; and brothers- and sisters-in-law, Bernice Hackman of West Union, Dorothy (Elmer) Schmitt of Fort Atkinson, Mary (Melvin) Rausch of Fort Atkinson, LaVerne (Alice) Hageman of Fort Atkinson, Alfred (Louise) Hageman of Cedar Rapids, Theresa (Bob) Cunitz of Norwalk, Wis., and Joan Schissel of Decorah.
