William Greg Cowen, 43, died Friday, Dec. 30, 2016, in Cedar Rapids. Services are pending.
Survivors include his brothers, James Jansen, Roger (Jennifer) Jansen and David Jansen; sister, AAliyah Meyers; parents, Bill Cowen and Carolyn Meyers; nieces, Tylar (Andy) Schlichte, Alisha (Jack) Yoders and Alecia Jansen; and nephews, Dakota Jansen and Austen Burridge.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Heather Blasdell.
Greg was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, on Nov. 4, 1973. He was a wonderful son, brother, uncle and friend. He was a very talented artist and poet. In his earlier years, he worked as an electrician until an accident left him paralyzed. He was known for his sense of humor, quick wit and sarcastic nature. He was loved and will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.
Memorials may be directed to the family to help pay for funeral expenses.
