The Eastern Iowa Airport will announce new daily airline service on Friday that will begin this fall.
No details have been released in advance of a 10 a.m. news conference in the newly renovated baggage claim area of the Donald J. Canney Terminal.
The regional airport offers direct flights to 12 destinations, including summer seasonal service to Los Angeles. The last new air service announcement in 2014 was the annual Allegiant Air flights to Los Angeles.
The second phase of a $55 million passenger terminal renovation is nearing completion. Construction is expected to begin in 2017 on the third and largest phase of the project, which will include expansion of the security checkpoint and adding a second level and jetways to the B concourse.
