Loesch, Jerome 'Jerry' T.
Jerome “Jerry” T. Loesch, 69, of Mount Vernon, died Saturday, Aug. 14, 2010 at his home following a three-year battle with esophageal cancer. Memorial Mass: 11 a.m. Friday at St. Isidore Church, Springville. The family will greet friends one hour before the service at the church. Private family inurnment will be held at a later date. Arrangements by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion.
Survivors include his life partner, Mary Mitchell, and her son, Shannon Mitchell; Jerry's children, Mary E. Loesch of Iowa City, Jerome Loesch of Iowa City and Kathy (Dave) Lynott of Mount Vernon; his grandchildren, Kate and Maggie Lynott; and three brothers, Ted (Marge) Loesch of Rolling Meadows, Ill., Dennis (Marilyn) Loesch of Highland Park, Ill., and Michael Loesch of Phelps, Wis.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Larry Loesch; and a nephew, Tommy Loesch.
Jerry was born April 25, 1941, the son of Theodore J. and Mary E. (Sheahen) Loesch, in Highland Park, Illinois. He spent over 20 years in the beverage industry before purchasing and operating “Jerry's True Value” in Mount Vernon. Nothing brought Jerry greater joy than cooking and entertaining for family and friends. He also took great pride and joy in caring for his rural Mount Vernon home.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Jerry's memory.
