Malget, Adrian J.
Adrian J. Malget, 87, of Oelwein, died Tuesday evening, April 26, 2011, at Oelwein Healthcare Center. Mass of Christian Burial: 11 a.m. Saturday, April 30, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Oelwein, with the Rev. Harry Koelker officiating. Visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home, Oelwein, with a Knights of Columbus rosary at 6 p.m. and a parish Scripture service at 7 p.m. Interment: Woodlawn Cemetery, Oelwein.
Memorials may be given in his name to Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Adrian Joseph Malget was born Oct. 8, 1923, at Adrian, Minn., the son of William M. and Katherin (Erpelding) Malget. He graduated from Adrian High School in 1943. He moved to Audubon, Iowa, where he lived for 12 years. Adrian was united in marriage to Dorothy Sophia Testroet on May 24, 1948. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Audubon. They lived at Waukon and later moved to Oelwein in 1964. Adrian worked in the grocery business for 45 years, including 22 years at Fareway, from which he retired in 1986. He had been a resident at Arlington Place in Oelwein and later at the Oelwein Health Care Center since Dec. 28, 2010.
Adrian was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Sacred Heart Senior Citizens and was a life member of the Oelwein Knights of Columbus Council No. 1168.
Adrian is survived by his wife, Dorothy Malget of Oelwein; son, Ted (Judy) Malget of Oelwein; daughter, Mary Kay (Richard) Goedken of Dundee; six grandchildren, Jennifer (Dave) Niera, Mike Malget, Kristin Malget, Katie Goedken, Kayla Goedken and Chris Goedken; four great-grandchildren, Mason Malget, Aarron Malget, Conner Niera and Sam Niera; one sister, Alvina Ruppert of Sun City, Calif.; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Roman Malget, Nicholas Malget and George Malget; and three sisters, Ann Mousel, Viola Ruppert and Joan Malget.
