Altheide, Jennifer 'Jenny' Jo
Jennifer “Jenny” Jo Altheide, 30, of Cedar Rapids, died unexpectedly Saturday, June 25, 2011. Services: 1 p.m. Thursday, June 30, 2011 at Teahen Funeral Home, Cedar Rapids. Burial: Fairfax Cemetery. Friends may visit after 10 a.m. until the time of service on Thursday at the funeral home.
Jenny is survived by her two children, Madison Marie Bailey and Dylan Jay Bailey of Mason City; parents, Denis and Peggie Altheide of Cedar Rapids; grandparents, Melba and Richard Welch of Cedar Rapids, and Samuel (June) Kessler of Sterling, Colo.; aunts and uncles, Kim and Verne Zakostelecky, Renny and Ernie Rimrodt, their daughter, Kerry (Mike) Donaldson and her son, Brent Danford, all of Cedar Rapids, Amy and Gary Ellis of Walford, Erin and Bruce Wheaton of Iowa City, and Steve and Erin Altheide of Cedar Rapids; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her loving grandmother, Joe Ellen Meskimen; and grandfather, Frederick Carroll Altheide.
Jennifer Jo Altheide was born Oct. 1, 1980 in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Denis Eugene and Margaret Jo Kessler Altheide. She graduated from Kennedy High School in 1999. She worked in the service industry for many years.
Jenny was a loving daughter, mother and friend who loved her family, which was very important to her. She loved animals and music. Jenny was a hard worker, and a very generous and loving person. In her spare time she enjoyed writing poetry and had an artistic knack for making unique and beautiful jewelry. Jenny was deeply loved by her two special pets, Chloe and Josie.
Jenny touched many lives and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
